Mount Kibo in the Kilimanjaro range, the highest mountain in Africa, and Lake Tanganyika, the second deepest lake in the world, are responsible for this high number. Mount Kilimanjaro is often falsely regarded as the highest mountain in Africa, when in fact it is the dormant volcano Kibo. Lake Tanganyika also has a second claim to fame, namely the largest of freshwater in Africa.
